On the First Day of the Second National Social Protection Conference, Mr Najam Ahmed Shah, Chairman, Planning and Development Board, Government of Sindh, reinforced Sindh’s commitment to social welfare and protection for vulnerable populations.

🔹 "In July 2022, the Government of Sindh formalised its commitment to social welfare by enacting the Social Protection Authority Act. A pivotal function of the Sindh Social Protection Authority (SSPA) is the development of a dynamic registry to identify and support poor and vulnerable segments of society, ensuring targeted interventions."

🔹 Key initiatives highlighted:

✅ Mother and Child Support Programme (MCSP)

✅ Sindh Social Registry

✅ Empowering women & agricultural workers

🔗 Building on Progress: Reflecting on the First Social Protection Conference (2023), Mr Shah stated: "That event provided a crucial platform for stakeholders to coordinate and develop tools & mechanisms to address social protection challenges. This National Social Protection Conference builds on that progress, reaffirming our commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s social protection systems."
